The Morrie in Royal Oak
I’m so excited to tell you about a hip restaurant I visited the other night with some blogger friends. The Morrie in Royal Oak has a trendy atmosphere, amazing food, and live entertainment. If you are searching for a happening place to hang with friends, grab a drink, or enjoy some tasty food, I recommend The Morrie.
When I attend a blogger event, such as this, I am able to try many different food items so that I can write a thorough review. During this event, I indulged in a three course meal plus a cocktail, all of which were delicious.
My cocktail of choice was called Train and Vain – B. Side. I love sweet drinks and this one hit the spot. It is a pear infused drink with a touch of nutmeg. So good I had a second!
For appetizers, we sampled One Big Ol’ Meatball, Kung Pao Cauliflower, and Brisket Mac. Of the three, Brisket Mac was my favorite, although I enjoyed the unique taste of all three. Brisket Mac is a little spicy so you might stray away if spice isn’t your thing.
Next came our main entrees….which wasn’t an easy decision for any of us in the group. I choose one of their headliners called the Nashville Hot Chicken. The Nashville Hot is a breast of chicken with shredded lettuce, garlic aioli, pickles, and blue cheese on an in-house made Morrie roll. The sandwich was really good although I would have preferred more spice. For my side, I choose the sweet potato tots which were a meal in themselves. If you like sweet potatoes, definitely try these!! I suggest sharing with a friend because they give such a hefty portion.
Last, but not least, came dessert. After much debate, I choose the bread pudding. With almond creme, blueberry sauce, rum drizzle, and candied pecans, I enjoyed every last bite of this piece of heaven.
