Easter Events Southeast Michigan 2021

Easter is just around the corner (April 9) and many cities/townships have organized some fun family-friendly events! Check out the list below to find an event near you. And of course, be sure to check the websites for any possible changes or cancellations. I will add events as I find them so check back often. 

Oakland County

Auburn Hills 

32nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt (April 8) 

  • Place: Civic Center Park, 1827 N Squirrel Rd, Auburn Hills
  • Time: 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm 
  • About: Children Of All Ages are invited to hunt For Easter treats, enter the Easter Bonnet Contest and have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Also, an egg toss for adults.
  • Cost: $2 per child 
Farmington Hills 

Egg Hunt Extravaganza (April 2)

  • Place: Heritage Park, 24915 Farmington Road, Farmington Hills, MI, 48336
  • Time: 10:00 am – 1:30 pm
  • About: Hop on down the bunny trail to search for your eggs, and stop at treat stations along the way to collect fun prizes. Take your photo with the Bunny in the Red Barn and even paint an egg!
  • Cost: $9R/$14NR
Ferndale

EGGstravaganza Egg Hunt (April 1) 

  • Place: 3 locations (see below) 
  • Time: 1:00 pm: GARBUTT PARK (AGES 1-4 ONLY), 1:30 pm: GEARY PARK, 2:00 pm: MARTIN RD. PARK
  • Time: 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm 
  • About: At each site, children will have the opportunity to gather as many prize-filled eggs as they can. One egg in each section contains a special golden ticket that will grant its finder a special Easter basket!! Each site will have an area dedicated to younger children (ages 1-4) and older children (ages 5-12). At Martin Road Park, children and parents will have the opportunity to see the Easter Bunny and enjoy hot chocolate, s’mores, and a senior bake sale goods. This is a FREE and non-registration event!

Hazel Park 

Outdoor Egg Hunt (April 1)

  • Place: Green Acres Park, 620 W Woodward Hts, Hazel Park
  • Time: 12:30 pm 
  • About: Search for eggs in Green Acres Park. The Easter Bunny will stop by for a visit.
  • Cost: $5 per person 
Highland

Huron Valley Egg Hunt (April 9) 

  • Place: Duck Lake Pines Park-Highland
  • Time: 10 am-noon
  • About: The first 500 children will receive a goody bag,
  • FREE event for kids, ages 2-10 years old.

Lake Orion 

Bunny Lunch (April 6) 

  • Place: Dining Room A @ Orion Center, 1335 Joslyn Rd, Lake Orion, MI 48360
  • Time: 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm 
  • About: Hippity Hoppity Easter’s on its way! Enjoy an Easter Lunch and friends at the Orion Center. Menu: Baked ham, scalloped potatoes, cabbage, slaw, green beans, roll, and carrot cake. Membership and registration are required.
  • Cost: $4R/$6NR
Novi

Paradise Park Easter Egg Hunt 

  • Place: Paradise Park, 45799 Grand River Ave, Novi, MI 48374
  • Time: 11:00 am – 1:15 pm
  • About: Bring the whole family and enjoy exploring the park grounds looking for hundreds of colorful eggs filled with candy, toys, and free attraction tickets. After working up an appetite, enjoy the family lunch buffet from 12:00-1:15 and feast on homemade pizza, hot breadsticks, fresh salads, beverages, and assorted desserts!
  • Cost: $18.95 (9 and younger), $20.95 (10 and older)

Eggstravaganza (April 2) 

  • Place: Fuerst Park, 45325 W 10 Mile R, Novi, MI
  • Time: 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm 
  • About: An Afternoon of hunting for eggs, a petting farm, crafts, and a visit with the Easter Bunny!
  • Cost: $7R/$9NR
Orion Township

Canterbury EGGstravaganza Weekend (April 1, 2, 7, 8) 

  • Place: Canterbury Village
  • Time: 12 am-4 pm
  • About: Come out to Canterbury Village for an afternoon of fun and adventure. The shops will have kids’ Easter activities throughout the afternoon which
    include crafts, lawn games, and selfie photos with the bunny. Bring your baskets, find eggs, and then choose which shops to trade them in at for candy and other
    fabulous prizes! You will find great purchases, presents, and deals at the vendors and shops. And don’t forget to hop down to Yates Cider Mill and check out the petting zoo and tower of hay.
  • Cost: Advance tickets only. No walkups are allowed and no tickets will be
    sold at the door. $7 entry. Children under 2, military, and veterans are FREE. Parking is $5.

Oxford 

Flashlight Egg Hunt TEEN Event (April 6) 

  • Place: Oxford Public Library, 530 Pontiac Road, Oxford, MI 48371
  • Time: 8:30 pm 
  • About: An egg hunt with a twist– you’ll need your flashlights to hunt in the dark! Don’t forget to check your batteries and basket to collect your eggs. Turn eggs in for prizes and find the special egg to win the grand prize!
  • Cost: $8 for residents, $10 for non-residents. Preregistration required! 

Easter Bunny Bonanza (April 8) 

  • Place: Seymour Lake Township Park, 2795 Seymour Lake Road, Oxford, MI 48371
  • Time: 1 pm 
  • About: Welcome the Easter Bunny with an Easter Egg Hunt and Ping-Pong ball drop! The event will begin with an Easter Egg Hunt followed by the Ping-Pong Ball Drop. The bunny chopper will fly over and shower the kids with thousands of white
    Ping-Pong Balls. Each child will receive a special gift! 
  • Cost: $8 for residents, $10 for non-residents. Advanced tickets are required! 
Riverview 

Riverview Recreation Hippity Hoppity Easter Stroll (April 9) 

  • Location: Young Patriot Park 
  • Time: 11 am-noon
  • About: Take the family on a Spring themed walk around Reflection Pond at Young Patriots Park. Each CHILD will receive Spring treats. Meet at the gazebo to check in to enter the walk.
  • Cost: Free 
Rochester

RARA’s 9th Annual Easter Egg Hunt (April 1)

  • Place:  Rochester Municipal Park, 400 6th St, Rochester, MI 48307
  • Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm 
  • About: Children can have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny, so bring your camera! Small games and activities will be provided. This event will be held at Rochester Municipal Park by the Kiwanis Shelter (green shelter) near the Rochester Police Department.
  • Cost: $7 per resident child, $9NR
Royal Oak 

Bunnyville (April 7-8) 

  • Place: Detroit Zoo, 8450 W 10 Mile Rd, Royal Oak, Mi 48067
  • Time: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm 
  • About: Enjoy a golden egg hunt, habitat chats, free bunny ears, live entertainment, and Easter Bunny Photos. 
  • Cost: Free with zoo admission 
Troy

The Great Marshmallow Drop (April 7) 

  • Place: Catalpa Oaks County Park, 27725 Greenfield Rd, Southfield, Mi 48076
  • Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm 
  • About: Watch in amazement as 15,000 marshmallows are dropped from a helicopter. Participants then need to collect only one marshmallow that can be exchanged for a prize. There are four drop zone groups: Children ages 4 years and younger; children ages 5-7; and children ages 8-12. The drop for individuals with disabilities will begin at 11:30 a.m.
  • Cost: Free 
Wixom

Egg Hunt and Bunny Fun (April 10) 

  • Place: Gilbert Willis Park
  • Time: 1-3 pm
  • About: Includes Easter Egg Hunt, Jelly Bean Guess, Takehome craft, and pictures with the Easter Bunny! No advance registration is required. Rain or shine see you there! 
  • Cost: $5 per child

Wayne County

Brownstown Township 

Easter Egg Scramble (April 8) 

  • Place: Lake Erie Metropark Food Bar 
  • Time: 10-11 am and 1-2 pm 
  • About: Hippity, hoppity Easter’s on its way! Hop on over to Lake Erie Metropark for an egg hunt. Enjoy crafts, games, and more during this festive spring program for the kids.
  • Cost: $4 per child, 2 and under free 
Canton

Bunny Hop (March 30) 

  • Place: Summit on the Park 
  • Time: 6-8 pm 
  • About: Enjoy a night of music and dancing with the Easter Bunny themselves! This family dance will take place at the Summit on the Park Banquet Center from 6-8 pm. Don’t “hop” in too late, the Bunny will be available for pictures for the first hour of the event, the last hour they will be shaking their cottontail on the dance floor with you! (All family members will need a ticket to attend regardless of age)
  • Cost: Pre-Registration is required. Fee: $13R/$17NR per person 

Bunny Munch (April 3)

  • Place: Summit on the Park
  • Time: 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
  • About: The Easter Bunny will be making a special stop in Canton for a night of treat-making at the Summit on the Park. This Easter-themed event will take place from 6-8 pm. The Easter Bunny will be there for photos with the family while you make an irresistible Easter treat. Included in each children’s ticket is one adult accompaniment. Please purchase an additional, discounted adult ticket for any other guests in attendance over the age of 15. All attendees will need a ticket to attend.
  • Cost: Fee: $13R/$17NR per child and includes 1 adult companion, additional adult $5R/$7NR
Dearborn Heights 

Easter Marshmallow Drop (April 1) 

  • Location: Canfield Community Center, 1801 N Beech Daly Rd, Dearborn Heights
  • Time: 12 pm-3 pm
  • About: We are so EGG-CITED for our Easter event this year, that we are doing another marshmallow drop to help celebrate the City of Dearborn Heights 60th Anniversary! This is a free event! Ages groups are listed on the flyer!
  • Cost: Free 
Garden City
Easter Egg Hunt (April 8) 
  • Location: Garden City Ballfields, 200 North Log Cabin Road, Garden City MI 48135
  • Time: 9:15 am 
  • About: There will be 3 different age groups; 3 & under, 4-6, and 7-10, to search for over 12,000+ eggs. Each age group will have 15 “magical eggs” to turn in for a special prize! Easter Bunny arrives at 9:15 am; the hunt begins at 9:30 am!
  • Cost: Free event! Bring your own bag/basket! No need to register! 
Livonia

Bunny Brunch (April 1) 

  • Location: Civic Park Senior Center
  • Time: 11:00 am – 12:30 pm 
  • About: Lunch will consist of pizza, salad, chips, and cookies. 
  • Fee: $8R/$12NR

Bunny Hop (April 2)

  • Location: Kirksey Recreation Center
  • Time: 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm 
  • About: There will be arts and crafts, a new bunny friend for you to stuff and take home, and a fun Bunny Hop game to play and win prizes. The Easter Bunny will also stop by for photos. 
  • Cost: $23R/$20NR 

Egg Hunt (April 8)

  • Location: Rotary Park, 6 Mile 
  • Time: 11:30 am -12:45 pm 
  • About: Ages 10 and younger are welcome (with parent participation) to search for eggs from the Easter Bunny during their assigned time slots 11 a.m to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at Rotary Park.
  • Cost: Although this is a FREE Egg Hunt, pre-registration is requiredWalk-up registration will not be accepted on the day of the event, as it is expected to sell out in advance. 
New Boston 

Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt (April 1)

  • Location: Oakwoods Metropark Nature Center, 32911 Willow Rd, New Boston, MI 48164
  • Time: 11:00 am – 3:00 pm 
  • About: Come out to Oakwoods for an Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt! Stop by anytime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and we will get you started on your journey. Walk .75 of a mile on our nature trail in search of hidden eggs. After finishing your hunt, come back to the nature center for crafts and treats.
  • Cost: $5 per child, children under 2 free 

Easter Egg Scramble (April 9) 

  • Location: Willow Metropark, 23200 S Huron Rd, New Boston, MI 
  • Time: 10 am-3 pm 
  • About: Enjoy crafts, games, candy maybe even get a visit from the Easter Pig! It is important to arrive on time for the program; children are separated into age brackets to search for eggs and will begin at different times.
  • Cost: $5 per child (Ages 2-14)
Plymouth 

Easter Palooza (April 9) 

  • Place: Northridge Church, 49555 N. Territorial, Plymouth
  • Time: 10 am-noon
  • About:  There will be an Egg Hunt, Inflatables, Games, Crafts, and much more!!!
  • Cost: Free 
Romulus 

Easter Egg Hunt (April 1)

  • Place: 36525 Bibbins St, Romulus 
  • Time: 12:00 pm 
  • About: Join us behind the Romulus Senior Center (36525 Bibbins St) on April 1st, 2023 at noon! Bring your baskets to collect eggs and take a photo with the Easter Bunny! 
  • Cost: Free

Sensory-friendly visit with the Bunny (April 1) 

  • Place: Brownstown Event Center, 23345 King Road, Romulus, MI 
  • Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
  • About: This event is for individuals who have Autism, sensory issues, and other special needs. Families and caretakers welcome. This will be a slow-paced sensory-friendly egg gathering, crafts, bunnies, and other activities inside the event center. If weather permits some activities may be outside. 
Taylor

Taylor Bunny Trail (March 27) 

  • Place: Heritage Park
  • Time: 11 am
  • About: Fill up your Easter basket with treats from special spring characters and get your photo taken with the Easter Bunny! Easter Basket, treats, and photo op with the Easter Bunny included.

Bunny Bash (April 8) 

  • Place: Heritage Park Petting Farm, 12803 Pardee Road, Taylor, MI 48180
  • Time: 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • About: Take a walk through the petting farm and meet all our favorite long-eared friends! Our hoppy companions can’t wait to meet you.
  • Cost: Tickets are $5 per person (1-year-old and under free)
Trenton

Easter Egg Hunt (April 8) 

  • Place: Westfield Activities Center, 2700 Westfield Avenue, Trenton, MI 48183
  • Time: 10:00 am -11:30 am 
  • About: Pictures with the Easter Bunny, refreshments, goodie bags, and egg hunts for children Ages 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9, and up.
  • Cost: Free 
Wayne

Marshmallow Drop (April 15) 

  • Place: Attwood Park, Wayne 
  • Time: 10-10:30 am 
  • About: HYPE will be dropping 10,000 marshmallows out of the sky. Once you get a marshmallow, you turn it in for a goodie bag. Time slots: 10 am Toddlers-4, 10:15 am 5-7 years old, 10:30 am 8-10 years old. 
  • Cost: Free 
Westland

Easter Bunny Meet-n-Greet (April 9) 

  • Place: Wayne Ford Civic League, 1645 N. Wayne Rd, Westland 
  • Time: 9 am-11 am 
  • About: Come take pictures with the Bunny and get an Easter treat.
    There will be coloring sheets and temporary tattoos available after you see the bunny.

    That’s crazy that Easter is less than a month away … this year is going by really fast, can’t decide if that’s a good or a bad thing, yet!

  • Wow! Lots going on! I remember trying to attend everything when the kids were little. Just a couple weeks – hopefully Easter can usher in some warm spring weather for us 🙂
