7 Easy Ways to Save Money
I am all about saving money in any way I can. I’ve discovered some great ways to do so and I want to share them with you!!! Please take a look at the rebate programs below and let me know if you have any questions. I’d be happy to help. Also, I’ve learned that to get the most out of these rebate programs, it’s best to look at the available rebates BEFORE you go shopping. This is something I need to get better at remembering to do.
Ebates – If you shop online, always go through Ebates before purchasing directly from the store website. You can shop and earn cash back at over 1,800 stores online through Ebates. Head to Ebates and search for the online store you plan to purchase from. You will earn at least 1% back by going through Ebates. You can even use Ebates before purchasing through Groupon and Restaurant.com. Â Use my link to sign up and we will both get a cash bonus.
Ibotta – One of my favorite apps to use for instant rebates is Ibotta! It is so easy and quick to earn cash back. I just reached $20 in cash back which was credited to my Paypal (then I transferred it to my bank). I am on my way to another $20 cash back. Unlock product rebates, purchase the products, scan the bar codes, and take a picture of your receipt with your smart phone and you will get instant rebates! Â If you haven’t used Ibotta, you are missing out!
Checkout 51 – This is an another program that involves buying products at the store, then coming home and taking a photo of your receipt with your smart phone. It is so easy to complete this task and definitely worth the time. After you reach $20 in rebates, a check will be sent to you in the mail. I love to use this one for fresh fruit and vegetables.
SavingsStar – Again, this is a rebate program that allows you to shop and then take a picture of your receipt using a smart phone. I haven’t earned as much with SavingsStar because they don’t offer as many rebates, but it’s still worth the time! Savings can be cashed out to a bank account, PayPal, or you can purchase a gift card to some local favorites.
Snap by Groupon – Snap gives you cash back on groceries no matter where you shop. Browse the offers before you shop, purchase, and then snap a photo of your receipt. When you earn $20, Snap will send you a check.
Shopmium – I haven’t used this application as much because they have so few rebates and the rebates offered are store specific, meaning you have to purchase the products at particular stores (like Target). Again, you purchase the products, complete the tasks, and earn cash back.
Receipt Hog – Unlike the programs listed above, receipt hog allows you to earn money by submitting your entire receipt. No matter where you shop or what you buy, Receipt Hog rewards you for submitting pictures of your receipts within 14 days of purchase. You get cash by earning coins which you receive by submitting receipts, playing the Hog Slot machine game, by referring friends, and by taking surveys. Also, every receipt you submit, regardless of the type, earns you an entry into monthly sweepstakes!
Use my referral code (JING5960) when signing up and I’ll earn some Hog Slot spins!
I hope you’ll look into these rebate programs. Do you know of any I haven’t included?
I haven’t heard of Receipt Hog, it sounds interesting. Thanks for reminding me about Ibotta, I normally double-check my receipts w/ the app to see if I can save money, but I didn’t after some Sunday grocery shopping, yet. 🙂
My cousin introduced me to Receipt Hog at Christmas. You can scan all receipts, even gas.
Great list! I use many of these already and am always looking for new ways to save money.
I’ll have to look more closely at these later. I already use eBates and ibotta, but sometimes I think I shop so seldom that I forget to use them when I finally buy things! LOL
It’s difficult to remember but a good habit!
I recently started using Receipt Hog. I haven’t been using it long enough to offer much of an opinion, except to say, it is very easy to use. I like that it stores pictures of all your receipts in one place. I’m kind of at an age in my life where I don’t really shop very often so I’m not sure how much I would benefit from most of these, but I would of loved them when my family was young. I’ll definitely share them with my daughter. 🙂
Hmmm I’d never heard of Checkout 51 .. I’ll have to check it out. Seems that camera phones are having more and more practical uses these day beyond taking selfies.
Great tips and list. Haven’t heard some of them before so yes, this will come in handy.
This is a great resource list! I’m not too big into rebate programs but it’s something I might pick up in the future!
I’ll be honest and say that may of these were brand new to me. So great job and a great list. I am heading now to check them out!
You had me at saving….I am all for anything that gives me a chance to save money.
Hope you will check them out.
I have not heard of some of these and wish I could be better about using them. I am a HUGE online shopper so EBates is a favorite of mine.
I’ve gotten into the habit of coming home and taking care of my receipts right away.
Awesome list! I just downloaded IBotta and am excited to use it!
