CycleBar Troy and Northville
CycleBar, a premier indoor cycling boutique, will be making its Michigan debut this summer with two new studios coming to Troy and Northville. CycleBar offers a workout experience unlike none other! Part exercise class, part rock concert, CycleBar offers an exhilarating, high-energy workout experience, complete with amazing music, energy-enhancing video graphics, and rider-specific performance data in a state-of-the-art CycleTheatre.
I was invited to experience CycleBar Troy before its opening and I must admit I didn’t really know what to expect. Cycling both indoors and outdoors is one of my favorite forms of exercise, but never had I experienced cycling like this before! Cycling at CycleBar is led by an instructor who also acts as a DJ. He/she leads the group of bikers as they experience a multisensory interactive experience.
The Troy location had 30 Schwinn stationary bikes set up stadium style for better viewing of the video screens and the instructor. Each bike is adjustable to fit the rider and the pedals have locks to secure the special shoes that are provided by CycleBar. The bikes have everything you need…water bottle holder, phone charger, personalized computer screen with stats, and more.
I really enjoyed the 55-minute experience. Our instructor, TJ, was full of enthusiasm and stamina. I loved watching his dance movements on the bike. I also liked that I could workout at my own pace. Although TJ gave suggestions for tension levels and RPM, each biker was able to work at his/her own fitness level. The lights in the studio are dimmed during the workout so this takes less pressure off each rider too. Overall it was a fun workout and I look forward to trying it again!

So cycling is NOT my thing at all but I was still glad I tried CycleBar, lol – very nice experience. I’ll stick to zumba for now though. 🙂
I love spinning! No bugs!
Lol true
I like outdoor cycling for the fresh air and the spontaneity to just go. But spinning with more supportive bike shorts seems like a better workout
I agree on the bike shorts.
