Wayne County Fireworks 2023

The Fourth of July brings family and friends together for picnics, BBQs, games, fun, and fireworks!! There are many local fireworks displays in Wayne County. Check out the list below and click on the display name to find out more! I will update this list as more events become available. 

Liberty Fest Fireworks (Canton)

  • Date: June 16
  • Time: Dusk 
  • Location: Heritage Park 
  • Event Details: Festival-goers will now be able to enjoy a spectacular fireworks display that is sure to wow the crowds on Friday, June 17. In the event of inclement weather, Liberty Fest fireworks will be held the following night at dusk. 

Riverview Summerfest Fireworks 

  • Date: June 17
  • Time: Dusk 
  • Location: Young Patriots Park, 14300 Sibley Road
  • Event Details: This 3-day festival ends with fireworks on Saturday. 

Stoney Creek Metropark (Shelby Township)

  • Date: June 30
  • Time: Dusk
  • Location: 4300 Main Park Road, Shelby Township
  • Event Details: One of Southeast Michigan’s favorite traditions is the Huron-Clinton Metroparks fireworks, bringing together so much fun and excitement. Tens of thousands of our neighbors gather together – over picnics and under the stars – to enjoy this celebration of our American Independence. And you can be part of the fun.

Taylor Summer Festival Fireworks

  • Date: June 25
  • Time: Dusk 
  • Location: Heritage Park
  • Event Details: A carnival will be held all three days, with the featured fireworks presentation at dusk on Saturday, June 25. 

Livonia Spree Fireworks

  • Date: June 25
  • Time: 10 pm
  • Location: Ford Field at the corner of Farmington Road and Lyndon 
  • Event Details: Each year Livonia Spree concludes with its Grand Finale Fireworks Extravaganza on Sunday night at dusk (approximately 10:15 pm). Eagerly anticipated by Spree visitors, Sunday night will find the Spree grounds filled with people, lawn chairs set up, and picnics in progress along major Livonia streets. This year the Livonia Anniversary Committee, Inc. will spend more than $50,000 on its annual 30-minutes fireworks show.  

2023 Ford Fireworks (Detroit)

  • Date: June 26
  • Time: Dusk
  • Location: 
  • Event Details: The Ford Fireworks is one of the very best shows in America and this year it will be even better!! In addition to this world-class show, The Parade Company is once again holding Detroit’s summer kickoff that night, The Rooftop Party presented by Ford. This casual event, held on the Center Garage roof is our annual fundraiser which helps to put on this great show along the Detroit River. There is not a better seat anywhere to watch the show while enjoying the evening with friends, food, and drink, up on the roof. This fundraising party sells out each year and is attended by thousands of Detroit business and civic leaders and their families!

Salute to America (Dearborn)

  • Date: June 30-July 3
  • Time: 5-10 pm 
  • Location: Greenfield Village 
  • Event Details: In partnership with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, The Henry Ford proudly presents Salute to America in Greenfield Village. Begin your evening by walking through Greenfield Village at your own pace while listening to musical ensembles perform across the venue. At dusk, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra takes center stage on the Village Green for a triumphant musical performance in celebration of Independence Day. The evening ends with a stirring “1812” Overture performance, cannon fire, and a brilliant fireworks finale.Join us and take in the unique atmosphere of Greenfield Village at night. Enjoy your favorite summer treat as you stroll and listen to performance groups across the village, each showcasing a diverse assembly of music from American history, including choral singing, ragtime, jazz, and more. Grab a blanket, get comfortable, and take a seat on the Village Green for a three-part grand finale, including a full Detroit Symphony Orchestra performance.An exuberant collection of songs, food, and fanfare connects families, friends, and neighbors to honor the great American experiment. We invite you to a Fourth of July celebration unlike any other at Salute to America.

Willow Metropark (New Boston)  

  • Date: July 1 
  • Time: Dusk 
  • Location:  23200 S Huron Rd, New Boston 
  • Event Details: One of Southeast Michigan’s favorite traditions: The Huron-Clinton Metroparks fireworks festival, brings together so much fun and excitement. Tens of thousands of our neighbors gather together – over picnics and under the stars – to enjoy this celebration of our American Independence. And you can be part of it.

Lake Erie Metropark (Brownstown)

  • Date: July 3
  • Time: 10 pm
  • Location: 32481 W. Jefferson, Brownstown 
  • Event Details: One of Southeast Michigan’s favorite traditions is the Huron-Clinton Metroparks fireworks festival, bringing together so much fun and excitement. Tens of thousands of our neighbors gather together – over picnics and under the stars – to enjoy this celebration of our American Independence. And you can be part of it. Free with a Metroparks daily or annual pass is required to enter any Metropark.

Van Buren Fireworks

  • Date: July 4
  • Time: Dusk
  • Location: Field of Dreams
  • Event Details: Gates open at 7 pm. Food vending will be available. 

Westland Blues, Brews, Barbeque 

  • Date: August 5
  • Time: 10 pm
  • Location: Thomas H. Brown Central Park – 36601 Ford Road
  • Event Details: This will be the biggest and best fireworks show Westland has ever seen! Fireworks will begin at 10:00 pm on Saturday, August 5th, 2023.  But it gets better! The City of Westland will also be featuring a drone light show before the start of the traditional fireworks display!

Flat Rock Fireworks 

  • Date: Sept. 17
  • Time: Dusk 
  • Location: Huroc Park, 28700 Arsenal Rd, Flat Rock
  • Event Details:

    Not Wayne County, but Clawson unfortunately canceled theirs for the 2nd year in a row … bummer. I’m visiting a friend next week and we were hoping to find some near her (South Lyon) but we haven’t found any yet which are that Saturday.

  • The Greenfield Village event sounds wonderful! I can’t remember the last time I got to see a whole fireworks display – one of my kids didn’t like the loud noises, so we always left early. It’s always fun to watch a few and say Oooohhh and Aaaahhh!! 😀 Thanks for sharing the list!
